Your three paragraph book review:
The introduction
- starts with a strong topic sentence, a hook that makes us want to read your review
- inform the reader of the title, author, illustrator (if applicable), and date of publication
- introduce the major characters and describe the major character(s)
- establish the setting of the story
- outline the main idea of the book
- explore the major “problem” or conflict of the book
- describe the resolution of the book’s major problem
- mention the lesson learned or moral taught
- end with a clincher sentence that connects to the topic sentence --->
- clincher can reflect, repeat, or refract the topic sentence.
